Transmission cooling lines - what choices do I have?
What choices do I have for the transmission cooling lines on a 3rd gen dodge. I had to modify the factory dodge lines for my Excursion cummins swap and I'm not satisfied with how they turned out (will work for now but not longterm).
Anyone ever replace your stock lines with something else? Like hydraulic hose with JIC fittings?
It appears as though JIC fittings will work on the tranny and the cooler mounting on the block. However, the cooler up front uses two short 1' hoses with quick connects before going to the hard line. I don't know how I would adapt to these?
Any ideas?

I currently have a hydraulic hose with the fittings pressed on from my local carquest cost like $42. I have all the anodized fittings and ss braided lines from jegs waiting to be installed. Do a search for Stainless Steel Braided lines I believe joefarmer did the writeup. Ive had 3factory lines crack at the flare and have not had any trouble at all out of the hydraulic hose.

I used the stainless braided teflon hose mentioned and really like the way it turned out. Both these places have all the fitting you would need, compare prices between the two and you can save a good bit. The supergem fittings are really nice and easy to work with. For the cooler up front I cut the factory ends off and used a http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/product_p/419.htm and a http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/product_p/318.htm to turn a JIC fitting into a compresssion fitting then everything is JIC.

WVAussie, I'm still alittle confused...
Did you really mean to link 418 and 419?
http://www.discounthydraulichose.com...e=418&CartID=0
http://www.discounthydraulichose.com...e=419&CartID=0
It appears that the 418 would go onto the 1/2" tube first, then the 419 and then a 1/2" male JIC fitting would than attach to them? So the 419 gets squeezed between and would compress the 1/2" tube? Is that right?
Thanks
