Tahoe with a Duramax??

Is there any confirmed news of a Tahoe/Yukon coming out with the D-Max Diesel? I thought I heard of this a while back, but I can't find anything on it.
It would be the ultimate SUV, IMO. Unless Dodge could put something together with the 5.9.

If Dodge made a larger Ramcharger w/ a Cummins that's what I'd be driving right now! Heck, if those Sprinters came with a CTD I'd buy one of those.....

I think the reason they dont have the D-Max in them know is cuz the trnay will not fit under it. And I don't think they are changing the trany any time soon.

That's correct. I am aware that they have the Mercedes diesel in them.
The dually ones don't look so bad. Plus you can get a really huge one that would make a good RV...

I read an article in one of my mags about a guy back east that does Dmax conversions for tahoes and 'burbs...none from the factory though. That'd be a nice light duty rig for a grocery getter/commuter for the family vehicles. It didn't really take any fabricating either, just research on his part, pretty much all of the front end systems(suspension/frame/front sheetmetal) is interchangeable between the tahoes/trucks/'burbs so if he could do it so easily I don't see why GM couldn't. Like I said, that'd be a nice light duty rig to be used like most SUV's are.

I don't understand why dodge hasn't offered the sprinter engine in the durango...that engine is pretty small isn't it?

The turbodiesel Toureg and Liberty should get things going for the diesel SUV's...those things are both GREAT cars and get amazing mileage for their power and 'wheelin capabilities.

the stupid people will learn soon enough that diesel is a WAAAAAY better way to go eventually. The diesel cars and SUV's aren't getting a whole lot worse mileage than the stupid hybrids that can't get out of their own way. Look at the turbodiesel VW beetles and jettas that have been around for a few years that are getting 50mpg and are plenty fast for what they are.

okay i'm done ranting for now.
