Don't wanna run stacks? You can always add these to the sides of your truck bed:

This is how they'd kinda look:

Only real sure way to make sure you can SMOKE the "Street Walkers" besides the other cars/trucks.....

Ive seen those on the trucks show. They would be fine for a gasser but for a diesel it should be one giant 5 inch outlet.

I plan on cutting the bed again, that is, right now there's space between the back of the bed and the stacks, that's about 4-5". I plan on putting twins soon, with a 5" dp, and when I do that, i'll move the stacks against the bed, and have the toolbox cover the rest of the hole, which gives me enough room for a gooseneck and my toolbox (**** shortbeds).

Do stacks really give you that much more power or is it mostly a exterior look thing?

They don't give you any more power than a regular exhaust of the same size, but they look cool and, more importantly, when you smoke like a freight train the smoke goes above the cars behind you and not right into their field of vision.

I wouldn't say that! I have notice more topend hp since I added mine last weekend. Turbo spools quicker, better throttle response, truck feels pepeer.

Well, if the stacks are the same diameter and length as the pipe you replaced, then I would have to say that your truck feels faster because you can hear it better.

Which is another "benefit", I'm sure.

Sorry the images are gone - there are pict's of my (old) truck in the gallery with them. When I bought the kit, it came with all the pipes from the turbo back. The stock down pipe is 3" (I think?) or 3 1/2" and the one that came with the kit immediately jumped to 4" right after the connector (I bought the 4 inch kit) and was 4 inches all the way to the end. There IS a baffle that came with the kit for each riser with a reduction plate welded to the bottom of it to make sure you have minimal back pressure. That kit along with the K&N air intake made quite a difference in performance as well as milage (approx 2 to 3 mpg increase - I keep close watch on my milage). On the freeway the transmission shifted much smoother and the turbo lag seemed much shorter taking off from a stop.

I eventually reached the point where I couldn't take the noise anymore, tried to sell the pipe setup but could find no buyers...

I'm sorry to say that I'm now a Gasser (2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Daytona) and have hated myself since for getting rid of the old truck - I WANT MY DIESEL BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw this the other week and immediately thought of this thread and no, it's not photochopped. I took the pic myself.

Let's see, 2' over the cab, heat shields, 1/2 ton, gasser. How many other things could they do wrong?

Don't forget the whitewall tires too.....

Dont those present some issues when using the truck as a truck? #1 if your dog was in the bed he/she would get burned? #2 hauling hay or anything else that slid next to them would catch fire from the heat? #3 if you towing a camp trailer or horse trailer it would either cover the trailer front with soot and or gag or kill the horses from the fumes on a long haul? #4 Noise in the cab?
Just curious.

I am been told if i were to put stacks on the truck they would look hillbilly or redneck.I will take the redneck complement anyday,if stacks are redneck then it will go with my redneck windshield sticker i am getting made and it will also go with my rebel flag.lol
I dont realy care what anyone else thinks its my truck i will do as i please. Do you realy think the ricers care if you hate the way their fart cans look and sound?

In high school I had stacks in my 77 Ford. They were old driveshafts cut down with 5 lug wheel centers welded to them and on top.....oh yeah, rain caps. That's hillbilly. To top it all off it would backfire and blow the rain caps off! They do look great when done well, like you want to. One time I saw a 2wd ranger with dual 4 in stacks on the outside of the box right behind the cab...wow...what people come up with. Just don't do that and they will be awesome!
