AW RIGHT!

(He has pictures!)

It's kind of different not having to ask for pictures...

Well, chance to build it back better the next time... You're a brave man to try that and to share it with us.

I dont have pics of my mishap, but it was nearly the same thing. i went back to check a trail...got in a tight spot turning around and wrinkled the bed on a tree. So trying not to tear up the bed anymore i went down this little hill and tried to back up...well i slid to the bottom and into a DEEP mud hole. 5 hours later, with 4 shovels, 15 people, 2 big lifted jeeps, and a 5.4L gas ford with 8" lift and 35's all JERKING at the same time i finally came out. They tried all pulling slowly and steady...wouldnt budge the beast. And i only had one tire (drivers front) buried, the other 3 were on slick but solid ground. We actually ended up using a log to put under the front bumper and pry upward...you wouldnt think 3 people could lift a CTD front end, but they did and the truck came out on that attempt. After i was out i stepped in the hole that the one tire was in...the hole was nearly 4' deep, up to my chest, and it had gone thru 2 feet of mud and 2 feet down into solid dirt below.

It ended up costing me brake pads, 5 hours of cleaning the front end parts, a scratched rim from spinning in the mud, and the bed is all wrinkled and dented from that tree. Plus my one jeep destroyed a front driveshaft, and the other jeep needed a new track bar, and new control arm mounts because it bent them and shifted the axle 4 inches to the passenger side.

as a reminder, you should change the oil in both front and rear axels. water has a nasty habit of finding it's way in there after it's been sitting a while.

Been there done that!!! Except it was a tranny, front end seals and a WHOLE new rear end. Needless to say I stay way from all water holes, well atleast from the big ones.

A while back, a few friends and I were in a meeting with a GM truck rep. Over lunch, we got to talking about various truck experiences and one of the guys pipes up and says, "How can you call the ZR2 an off road package. I had mine out middin' the other day and it died before the water even got up to the hood."

The GM rep stared at him for a minute - trying to figure out if he was serious (he was) then deadpanned, "Our engineers consider anything over the hubs "deep water."
