Something New?

well guys and gals, here is my dilema. you can see by my sig. that my current truck is a reg cab 12 valve that i absolutely love to death other than its an automatic. well, i am getting married very soon and will have a family when i do, which i am very excited for! i am going to have to get a different truck, one that will fit more than two comfortably, and in my part of the country, it is gonna have to be overvalved because nobody wants to sell an extended cab 12 valve at all which i don't blame them. my question really is, do you think that it would be easy for my wife (to be) to learn how to drive a stick shift in one of these trucks? i told her time and time again that my new truck will not be an automatic, and she doesnt like that idea so i am trying to convince her that it will be easy for her to learn in a truck like ours. oh yah, and how will i get over the fact that i will more than likely be driving a 24 instead of a 12!!

Find out before you marry her!!!

Just kidding. Congrats on getting married soon.
I think that it's a lot easier, these Dodges are hard to stall, and stock clutches are not as touchy. Just be patient when you try to teach her.

Good Luck!!

I don't think there is a single vehicle on the planet more suited to learning stick on than a Dodge Cummins...

Maybe a tractor...

You got 20 to learn how to drive with a stick... 19...18...

I'm patient!! I am very loving and gentle with my recruits. I UNDERSTAND!

BTW, Marine Corps is capitalized...

i'm thinking that later second gen. will be more in my price range. an 01 extended cab short bed, five or six speed i don't care either one. the truck will probably remain stock as far as no box or anything but will have an exhaust to make its presence known.

These trucks are easy to learn on for the simple fact of the governor. You can let the clutch out without applying any throttle at all, and the governor won't let the RPM fall enough to stall.
