1989 Ford Dump Truck

I was wondering who made the motor for the 1989 f-700 line of trucks...its a I6 with ford badges on the valve cover. bears ford stickers on it for disp info, hp, rpms and such. the displacement is 401ci which would put it anywhere between 6.1-6.7 me and a few buddies got into a heated arguement over who makes this motor.

I think they originated in South America,Brazil maybe.Look for Ford/Lehman as their roots. They are a good engine.Google Lehman and you will see a long history and they still make marine engines too.

I've always heard they were made by New Holland. They had a Ford valve cover, and there was 2 engine sizes, a 6.6 and a 7.8. Generally the 6.6 topped out around 180 or 190hp, and a governed rpm of 2750. Both hp and rpm could usually use a little tweaking.
