Regret stacks?

Anyone regret putting stacks in? I'm wanting to do a single 6-7" in the passenger side corner. With anything but Mitres. Anyone regret doing part or all of it? Maybe hated the a particular cut due to ____ or hated them all together because _____?

Dont regret them, but they got old and everybody started getting them so it was time for a change for me! Black soot crap had to go once it got all over the boat interior.... white boat interior...

Oh and IMHO miters are the only way to go looks wise...

I like the way they look and sound. I don't have them because I still use my truck and don't want to fight to keep stuff off of them. They get hot.

You should buy a muffler then.

Anyway, I'm getting 6 inch chromed bull-haulers.

That's the only way to go to an lifted dually!

On a srw... Bull-Haulers looks really stupid imo.

No regrets here. I have a single 5" turn out. I get compliments on it, plus I'm about the only one with a stack in my area.

No regrets other that I wish I had gone with 6" miters instead of 5" turnouts. I also run a muffler with mine and love the sound.

I can think of 8 stacked trucks just off the top of my head in my area. 4 of which I'm friends with. One 7" Mitre, 2 with Dual 5-6" mitres and one with a 5-6" turnout. The ones I don't know.. 2 straight cut singles in the middle of the bed and a blue CR with a SHORT single Aussie.

Make a barrier, use 1" alum. angle or angle iron (attach w/sheet metal screws) and sheet of your choice across the bed (??). Make a shelf out of it.

I don't have them yet but hopefully soon. I have a 1985 D-350 crew cab short bed and am in the process of putting dually wheel set up on it. Then the stacks and onto the exterior paint and interior mods. I won't tell you the color i'm going to paint it but i believe it will be pretty cool with the dually's and stacks, can you say FIRST GEN MEGA-CAB lol.....Augie

My single 6" miter has been on now a little over two weeks. So far I like it a lot. It is loud in the cab accelerating, but settles down at any cruising speed. I have a rain cap and so far it has worked fine. No soot at all that I can see or find.

I cut 2 2"x8"s and put them in the place in the bed that is made for them and it keeps my stuff of the pipes pluss it keeps my turnout gear from sliding all over the place.

I had mine on for about a month, mitres but set up unlike anyone else, well homemade. After a month and several heavy loads of steel to the scrap yard it was time for them to go. Got tired of the tissue box in the truck next to the earmuffs...tissues? For my bleeding ears. Plus riding around with my kids, wicked pulsations off the back glass. Yeah, I don't really miss them, loved how they sounded though. Awesome turbo sounds. I plan duals out the back with the old stack stuff......someday.
