The race is on..Furd Light Duty Diesel Announced

Ya, I know...Furd has had a Light Duty Diesel out for years (the 6.0 ). But now they are going even lighter:

Come on...A FRENCH engine in an F150?? Are they outta their minds! That's soooooo unAmerican.

Sounds like the planned Dodge Light Duty Diesel already has them spanked in HP and torque.

"Nissan is negotiating with International Truck & Engine Corp. for a V-8 diesel for the Nissan Titan, but neither company has announced a deal."

Wow, that is pretty interesting. Put a POS NA diesel engine into a high quality Japanese truck. I thought the Japanese were all about quality ?

6.0l

Its true the 6.0l in the ford is a POS but that is due more to fords pricing requirements to international. International makes another version of the 6.0 run down the same assembly line for busses that dosen't have the problems of the ford motor. Maybe that one is the on that Nissian is looking at.

I read on here that the ford 6.0's in buses and other heavy applications only rev to 2900 rpm. thats why there are less problems I would imagine?

LOL it's the engine that they use in the Land Rovers. I guess that they didn't read all of the TSB's .

The International 6.0L(VT365) light duty application, is in reality no better. Same engine issues, a little less electrical problems, than furd, you just don't hear as much about them as much as furd. I used to work on them too, and have buddies who are mechanics and partsmans at dealer, who also know the real inside scoop on these boat anchors. They want over $23,000cdn for a new exchange engine. Pass on both.
