Any wrecking yard that handles late model trucks and vans will have a load of auxilary heaters. Most GM astro vans have rear heaters as well as a good portion of full size panel vans. 2 water hoses and a couple of wires and you rock! Keep the Dodge, you'll regret it if you don't.

Cold Diesel,
Although I haven't (and won't bother) looking at the GM stuff, the Ford definitely has more rear room. My wife liked the rear seat of the Dodge better because the seat bottom folds up and you can get a little shelf for the dogs to stand/lay on. Neither of the Ford saleman I talked to could show me the operation of the Ford's "folding rear seat." We're lucky to be in SoCal and be able to put the dogs in back with a camper shell!

The Ford has more legroom but if you fold the seats up in the Dodge for your dogs, they may actually have less room in the Ford!

Re:PSD or DM?

Rigging up a heater core for the pooches would be more than simple. I have a similar setup in an old farm tractor cab and it works beautiful. It would be like mobile puppy paradise.
