Hey all.

Was filling up yesterday at the Flying J on I-71.

While in the store getting them to turn the pump on I bought a 32 oz bottle of "Powerservice" fuel additive.

I've never been much for snake oil and "miracle in a bottle" type products but I had heard other people on this site using said product.

so I dumped in a healthy dose before I fueled the beast up and then went for a good 500 mile interstate cruise.

You know what??

I think that stuff actually made a difference .

Truck felt like it had more power, idled smoother and appears to be getting superior fuel mileage. ie. after 500 miles still has 3/8 of a tank left.

Says on bottle gives added lubricity for pumps and injectors so I figured what the hay .

Anyone else had success with this product??
Now I'm curious.

 

I use a quart every other tank or so.

I use Powerservice and it does make a noticeable difference. I add 16oz to every other fillup.

I bought added a quart once and also noticed a difference in performance and in milage. I went to wally world and bought about 5 quarts and keep it in my tool box. I add about every 3rd fillup.

 

Poll on an over the road truckers website had Power Service use ahead of any other brands by almost three times.
Myself I only use additive in the winter for anti-gel and buy whatever is on sale, which is usually Howe's or Power Service, no complaints about either.

 

When I started running Power Service there had been quite a while since I put anything in for an additive. I noticed a slight gain in power, I know the idle was smoother, and I seem to have gotten better mileage. I know that it made a difference.

Try running their Diesel Kleene every fifth tank and see the difference.

I've used Power Service since 1978 in big trucks. It's the only thing I've ever used for fuel gelling that works. I'm sure the other benefits they claim are accurate as well. They've been around for a long time.

 

I use the stuff whenever possible but to be honest Ive never been able to tell a difference. However, if its "lubricity" keeps my pump alive just a little longer its worth it to me.
