Owners continue to complain about Ford's new diesel....
Re:Owners continue to complain about Ford's new diesel....
Yes 99 was the “lemon” year. Ford did do some things to bring the HP up, but that wasn’t my biggest beef. That was the first year for the independent rear suspension. What a fiasco. Almost all the Cobra’s had rear end clunking noises. Probably at least 50% had a BAD vibration from 65 to 75 MPH. I had both. Pull into a gas station with a little bit of a curb, CLUNK. Accelerate, CLUNK. Shift CLUNK. Let off the gas, CLUNK. The worst part was you had to either exceed the posted speed limit or get passed like you were (please excuse my politically incorrect statement here) a little old lady on her way to church when you drove on the freeway. Mine was in the shop for the rear end for 45 of the first 60 days I owned it. They never did get it 100% cured. Not the kind of experience you’d expect for $30000 bucks.

I forgot. I'm trying to be more positive in my life. It was the fastest, plush, leather, vibrating chair on the planet.
