Overdrive on or off for city

I searched and couldn't find anything. For best MPG, should you drive with overdrive on or off for when your just driving city and not pulling anything.

On my 06 I push the button twice, OD off around town, I find that you dont get the trany hunt, and I get at least 16 mpg on paper around town also, anything over "about" 45 mph and then I go back to normal.

With my 96 and my auto transmission, I find it is best to click it off for sustained driving under 45. For one thing, my a/t locks up the torque converter in 3d with the O/D off. Just much better response.
