That's great to hear Carquest stepped up, not so good about wix.

We have used napa gold filters at work for a long time, never seen that happen.

That was a expensive oil change!

It's ironic that so many people swear by WIX filters but Fram gets hung out and burned at the stake. Neither is on the Cummins and Chrysler list of approved filters. For the same reason. They both caused catastrophic engine failures in the early '90s. I won't even use them on my gassers. Although I do use a Fram on my Harley. The Harley has a screen filter at the oil pump to hopefully catch any bits of failed Fram flowing through it.
