I would just hate to see Dodge trucks (under any name) go away! It seems like if there is any part of Chrysler making money it must be Dodge trucks. They are so good and there are so many of them around.
But Fiat Ram just doesn't have a ring to it. How about "Fram"
. How do you say Ram in Italian?

mic: Daimler was out for number one (MB). They weren't trying to save Chrysler. They just wanted Chrysler Financial and a market for their overpriced parts. They really screwed up Chrysler quality control, and we've been paying for it. Empowered Work Teams (Post DC) at Allpar.com
Get on Allpar, there's lots of good info. The two companies are a good fit (way better than Daimler-Benz and Chrysler were). They both stand to gain from each other, as Chrysler doesn't have a strong small car segment, and Fiat doesn't have much bigger than an Avenger. The Fiat 500 would be the Mini Cooper-fighter of the bunch. A Linea with some minor sheet metal treatment changes would be a seller, IMHO. The Alfa Romeo looks to be the crossover point where both companies would work together to cut costs, and make the best use of technology across both corps. Look at the 200C on Allpar, and compare it to an Alfa 159. It's entirely possible that the higher end Chrysler luxury sports cars (think Crossfire) might benefit from Maserati.

Then they can sell the truck line to Nissan and the Jeep line to??
I hope it doesn't happen but if Nissan buys the truck line then they can get rid of the Titan. On top of that if GM quits making chevy trucks then you have 2 models down and a better market.
I don't think the truck would really change though, I can't think of any place visible on the truck where it says it's a dodge.
Every once in a while I wonder if Chrysler would even be in this mess if they'd just gotten their heads out of their kiesters and offered a true crew cab for the last 10 or so years - in 1500, 2500, and 3500's. I can't tell you how many times I've talked to folks in other brands of trucks that said they'd of bought a Dodge if they'd offered a real crew cab....
Oh - and if they'd offered some decent small cars...
