new diesel guy

ok i haven't got one yet, but i'm still lookin and savin up for when i get one. i'm wantin some ideas on what i can do to bomb a truck once i get one, it will most likely be a 24 valve for driveability once its done, i'm wantin to go with 305's and maybe 315's,, but i'll probably stick with 305's for mileage. what would be the best mods to do that i can do relatively cheap, won't hurt the truck, i need it to last, and still take care of all the lil ricers and frat brats in their lil sports cars if i get the chance
any and all ideas would be appreciated

ps. hopefully the truck will be auto, SB QC

The Smarty is getting awesome reviews. And take a look at the lift pump situation with the 24v trucks. And check for a 53 block.

And welcome to the best Cummins forum in the world!

Trust me, 7,000 lbs against maybe 2,000 lbs wet, they'll realize who has more. A stock cummins would push 20 of those cars. Bomb it and they won't know what hit them. Then if you want the front push bar (snow plow) you can use it to move more than snow

Welcome to the forum you'll love it. It's all in how you drive/take care of the truck, if you take care of it, it'll last you forever. If you don't, it won't. mods are only as safe as the driver with them. I'm sure you could get a guy with 200HP on a stock truck, tranny, ect and never have a problem, but here you go with smoking gun 16 year old billy with a stock truck and it dosn't last a week. Good luck bombing.

i will take care of the truck, i'm a college senior who needs a truck bad, and one that will last for a while in the workplace, it will get drove alot, it won't be babied too much, but i won't be hard on it, both of my gassers have ober 150k on them and still run good, i'm just gettin tired of 12 mpg ,, but yet i wanna smoke the ricers in the neighborhood who thing their fast , i'm still learnin the lingo so go easy on me, what all will give me good power, be practical, and wont hurt the truck. i've heard about injectors and turbos, what boxes would be good?? size injectors, ??
what would be the best combo??? and still be good on mileage
would like as many replys as possible to get some ideas on the truck,,
lookin at a 2001 SB QC, no bombs, and has really been babied

thanks
