Ok, I got an engine out of a 92 12-valve,with an intercooler,actually the whole truck is still here for parts, And I am lookin at a freinds 96 3/4 ton dodge 4x4regular cab with a bad V-10 and an auto I can pick up for $2500. is this easily do-able? any info on this swap readily avalable? and laslty, should I just hold out and try to find a 1st gen with a bad engine, but a decent body?, I would really rather buty the 2nd gen , this is gonna be a puller/run around/hauler truck, its just I got this engine from a freind that the truck was junk., thanks, shawn. also, I read in one of the local buyers market papers yesterday of a 12-valve engine in lacrosse WI for $700. it was ticking if anyones interested!, I thought about it, but got 1 engine already.

 

I do a decent amount of conversions, and in my opinion i'd look for a good 1st gen to put it in. the 2nd gen gasser will take a ton of parts you don't have to make the swap. all the dash wiring, underhood wireing, motor mt's fuel system all needs changed to diesel, the intercooler from the first gen wont fit. and the list goes on,if ya find a first gen ya can give me a shout, and i can give some pointers if needed.
