Need help with friends ford

My friend has a 02 or 03 ford f-350 with the 7.3 power stroke in it. He say's that it will start up fine but after twenty minutes or so it'll just die. After that it'll start right back up and die over and over again after every twenty minutes or so. He claims it's got a new fuel filter in it. Anyone have any idea's as what could be wrong????? If it matters he got some sort of programer, intake and exhaust. Thanks Ken

Might check to see if it's the camshaft position sensor. Common failure item for the 7.3 Powerstroke.

I'll vote on the cam position sensor here also, the signs and symptoms you are describing are the classic pending failure issues and will continue to get worse and/or just outright fail. A week battery will usually cause an extended crank to start but will not cause a stalling condition. Also if you do decide to change out the batteries change both and not just one. International will have a cmp for half the cost of Ford just tell the parts people you need a cmp for whatever year truck your buddy has and tell them it is for a T444E engine.

Good luck, Tim

Roger that "Common Problem"
He should carry a spare in the GB. Mine just went @ 147k. Easy way to tell is watch the tach when she's cranking w/ no fire. No tach-no cps-
