Well
i was filling up in a diamond shamrock once, and i saw this beat down dodge, i think it was one of the earliest cummins that came out I heard the old rancher turn in on, and it sounded good.. I made a comment to him, and all he spoke was spanish, he said oh yeah its got about 680,000 miles, daily driven ranch truck, all stock just maintain it... I didnt see the odometer but by lookin at the body i do believe it
An acquaintance of mine has 295K on a 1997 F250 powerstoke 4x4, but it sounds funky at idle, kinda like it lopes...
Another acquaintance of mine has a 12V 1997 cummins ram powered 3500, 2wd, completely stock, with 340,000 miles
I have seen a 1994 powerstoke with 410,000 on the clock, and still runnin,
And i have seen another cummins 24V with 328K and still goin strong, ram 2500
So any diesel will go well, but im stickin with what has been faithfull to me,
12V
it dont mean i dont accept the others tho... but it works for me.. and its paid for..best of luck findin u a truck

so far, 93 dodge 3/4 ton 4x4, hotshot truck, in central alberta. 910,000 km with no enigne work. Regular oil changes only.
Approx 570,000 miles. this was in 98
there are several pilot vehicles in this next of the woods pushing close to 400k miles, none with any engine work. Some ( autos ) with tranny jobs, thats it.

there is a member going around here i think, not 100% sure but 99% that has over a mill. i think he said he moves trailers around the state. i know there are some dodges around with 1,000,000 on them tho. i think one guy got a free truck in trade for his old one with a mill on the clock, made a deal with the dealer.

A friend of mine has a 91.5 that has had the tranny replaced once and the rear twice, but the engine is still running great, with over 600K on it. You can't tell the milage by the body though, he has taken very good care of it, even using it every day for his landscaping company.
He put some RV275 injectors in it after 600K.

Check out TDR mag issue #40 page #90-91 on a Mr Tom Olding and his '95 2500 Dodge/Cummins with 1,000,050 miles and figures he can get another 250,000 from the Cummins. He delievered Airstream TTs all over the USA. Engine had never been touched or even had the heads off.
Issue #41 has a Mr Bill Finke with a '96 D/C that turned over 1,000,000 in April of 2001. He was a contract driver for Hoosier RV transportdelivering RVs. In the same article they mention a few other million mile D/Cs. Both drivers had a maintenence log and is interesting to read.
I personally know a hotshoter with a '98 psd 250 with 400,000 mi. The block was determined that it was not rebuildable plus even the injectors would need to be replaced at 3200 dollars. He estimated about 9000 to get the engine back like new so he gave the truck to a grandson. Just the difference in a real medium duty engine and a wanna' be...............JIM

A friend of mine helped out a buddy who owned a hot shot business out of Houston, TX. Being he was helping the guy out, he was put in the newest company truck (CTD) they had. 96 12v, 650K on the clock!
One truck ran from Houston Tx to Bellechasse La 5 days a week, year round. Started Monday, not shut off till Friday evening. That's pulling a 40ft gn. It supposedly had over 1 million miles on it.
He now owns a 97 12v CTD.
Me: 125k, its not even broke in yet!

Every day I work just a bit past 290,000 miles. As I said in my other post, I called on a '95 with 454,000 on it in Ohio last year that was a one-owner with no major work done. That truck sold in three days for the full $5000 price.

highest mileage engine we currently have is a 1999 cummins N14 370/435. it had 1.3 million on it when the truck is was in was wrecked. it was pulled, rebuilt, and is currently powering another truck. these engines scream after a rebuild!
the old cummins 290s would roll the odometer twice occasionally, some of them saw over 2 million in the old old old internationals. last 290 we have choked on a fuel pump at 138k, man are those things fun to replace.
you can see why the choice to purchase a mini-cummins was easy
