Modifying Transmissions

Modifying Transmissions
I'm curious to know what is required when modifying manual transmissions. It seems that the only aftermarket parts available for manuals are clutches and flywheels. Is this all that is needed to improve the rating on a transmission? For example, on a stock manual transmission, the MU 13-1.25 Con FE kit alone would take the tranny to the advertised 1100 foot pound rating? Or do you need something else as well, like an oil pan?
Thanks for any answers or clarification.

If you don't dump the clutch when starting off and shifting, the NV4500 and NV5600 can handle pretty much anything you can throw at them. Especially if you aren't towing heavy.

So a stock NV4500 or NV5600 will hold 1100 foot pounds of torque as long as you shift easy? I was under the impression that something as mild as an Edge box would put the power levels over the tranny's ability. I'm talking about modifying the transmission after you'ver already modifed the engine.
What about for sled pulling? Then what kind of modifications would be needed to be made to the tranny?
