for one its Mercedes. can any of you work on these? how many ppl out there can actually work on these. because dodge wont even work on those Sprinters they produce. and around me there are only 2 mechanics that can do warranty work on the dodge sprinters and would you want to pay their labor cost???
I wasn't so much suggesting that it replace ALL diesels, I just thought it was cool that diesels are making themselves a viable alternative to hybrids when it comes to economy and being "green".

my dad told me that they were supposed to be doing that like 2 years ago or when they first aquired them. except that the dodge guys said to basically stick it cuz they are a pain in the ****. and at replacing an engine at 10,000 is seriously too expensive. but i hope if they do start to mass produce them more, that they bring the price down some.
So... when we raise the hood on one of the newer cars, how come we can't see anything but an engine cover and a two color-coded dipsticks sticking out? Is the buyer supposed to get the impression that THAT particular jewel of an engine is sealed, invioable, untouchable?
I guess getting a beer, raising the hood, and gazing at the plastic engine cover will never be the same as doing so with an oily, smelly old Cummins.
