Anybody else with 06 5.9 BlueTech
Title says it all. I bought an 06' 2500 Mega Cab on Saturday bought it in Illinois, thought something was jacked up when I saw a "BlueTech Diesel" logo on the tailgate. Does have the 5.9 motor under the hood, so what's the deal with the BlueTech emblems. Took it into the dealer with a turnsignal issue said the same thing "you don't see that everyday." I replied "what's that? Second Mega Cab in our town?" He says "nope, 06 BlueTech. Haven't seen that before. Where did you get it?" So has anybody else got one or seen one? Maybe the previous owner put the emblem on there. Thought I'd see if you guys heard of it.

I thought that the Blue Tech was only related to the new 6.7L engine and it being 2010 compliant and nothing to do with the 5.9. I would not be surprised if the prior owner put it on to make a few tree hugger neighbors happy or thought it looked cool. But I also could be wrong.

DBLR is right, bluetec is mainly for (2007 6.7-up) 2010 emmisions and beyond
hope they didn't charge you extra for the bluetec label on a non-bluetec truck

ya, if you somehow found that '06 new, check the build sheet because the real bluetec motors came with a $995 premium on their sticker to reflect the additional cost of the emissions system ...

Think the gut feeling that the previous owner put it on is going to be correct. Doesn't have the huge plastic engine covers or anything like the new 6.7's have. Looks like I need to update my signature too. Loving this thing so far. Granted my quad cab feels like it would turn around in the back of the mega cab, I also managed to fit it in the garage! Coming home from Moline got me right at 20.2 miles per gallon on the interstate. Getting close to 17.6 doing some in town driving for work. Gotta love having both of them. Neighbor refers to them as "lil' deez" and "big ol' deez", I refer to his as "worthless deez" he drives a 08 F-450 with the 6.4 been in the shop bout 5 times according to him and his wife.

Bluetec is only on the 6.7 trucks. The '07 5.9 are carry over from '06. New EPA compliant went into effect on build date of Jan 01, '07, with the introduction of the 6.7. No 5.9 is bluetec - even a '07.
