Mechanic

I have a d350 1ton 411 rear end and am interested in putting on a 311. Just curious about how much i should exspect to pay to have that done. Anyone with knowlege on this, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

No such animal. There are 3.54 gears, and 3.07's can be had if you can find a used axle from a '89 - '91 automatic truck.

it's not that hard to do. I wouldn't reccomend going south of 3.55 to anyone unless they never plan on towing anything.

My data tag says 3:04 or 3:05 gears; mine's a 93 and towing heavy can be a bit sluggish. Anything over 8500 or 9000 lbs turns my truck into a right-lane fixture. I can set my cruise at 70, though, with a 4000lb load (not that I'd want to, cuz it's ee-leegal).
