Alfalfa/grass mix here in ut I paid 120 a ton Straight #1 alfalfa 160. Last year the mix was 95. The increase is due to dry weather and fires, so they say.

I have a friend who just sold all her cattle. She's selling 85 bales of this years brome, 36 bales of this years prairie, 13 bales of clean fescue, 30 bales of last years brome (stored in the barn) located 15 miles east of Garnett, Ks. Probably weigh 1200-1300# each.

Wow 75lbs, and to think I complained about the 100-110 lbs bales, thats alot more twine and diesel pickin' up all those bales. Everything used to be 130-135lbs except feed store hay. Prices are min $160 a ton with good alfalfa/orchard mix and clean test hay going even higher

Three strand is $13.00 (130-160 lbs.) per bale here. Good 2 strand (75 lbs) is $6.50. Or about $ 165 per ton. Darries drive the cost up here.
