Saw one of these today. Plate on the engine said 3.9 L, 85 or 87 HP, built in 1987. Non turbo charged. Neat little rig, the hood and fenders lift up and the whole motor is right there, like a tractor or somthing. I'd like to have one that is 4x4 with a 12 valve 5.9 ctd. Add some bigger suspension maybe.

Then I showed him my ctd, he liked it. Said the scotty II sounded like it could inhale his jeep.

 

Funny you should mention that, a friend of mine just sent me some pictures of one they had in the shop working on it. He said its around 80hp, I told him it would look better with a turbo on it.

 

I almost purchased a mail jeep several years ago. I thought they were cool and really liked the right hand steering position. These can usually be gotten cheap.
