Racing and hauling put very different stresses on an engine.

You won't find many (or any) gas-powered engines pushing big boost in a heavy-duty application. Gasoline is too volatile and you'll detonate very quickly.

If by EGT you mean Exhaust Gas Temperature? We have them but we do not use that term. We call them Pyrometers. They are pretty much standard and have been for years.

Pull a 15,000# trailer up a grade with a Gasser, then pull the same trailer up the same grade with the Diesel. End of story.
