diesels and gassers

kinda random, but i bet some of you will get a kick out of it.

the other day i was talkin to my buds and the conversation was of course about trucks. one of my buds bought his own mowin business and said he wanted to get a bigger truck, and of course the first words out of my mouth were "get a first gen cummins"
well as the conversation went on i said dont get a gasser dodge. another guy in the convo said look at you thinkin your cool. you get a diesel truck and suddenly everything is a gasser.
i was like uh...ok. but on the inside, i was thinkin, well its true. there's gassers, then diesels. i guess i was brought up right on CTD. and i got my pride

Yea, I've had that conversation too! Kinda funny though cause the guy that was acting like diesels weren't any better than gassers finally got to drive a diesel and wont stop talking about the advantages of a diesel over gas. Now he's all the time askin me about my truck. I ride him pretty hard about it too!

I don't even try to tell people about the advantages of diesel. I used to argue with them , but not anymore. The way I look at it , if someone dose'nt want to buy a diesel , That leaves more for us...............

I try and talk people out of getting a Diesel unless I know there going to work it hard.To many people are buying them just for the cool factor and to pick up kids and shop at the mall .ever wonder why Diesel is so high and all the new smog laws are coming down on them? mho, Diesels should be loud and smokey maybe it would keep a few people buy gas rigs . most trucks any more are just big Cadillacs with huge trunks that never see work.

I talked my neighbour out of getting a dodge diesel because he is 95% in town and empty. He really wanted one after seeing and riding in the 6.7. Talked him into a 2010 4x4, 1/2 ton with the 5.7. That thing is pretty fast (for a gasser).

Whats crazy is that in Europe almost all the vehicles 2 seaters to big rigs are diesels. Even the American made vehicles. Their smog laws are nowhere near ours and their average fuel mileage is much higher. Its crazy how some crazies make these retarded laws for us here. Oh well, it is what it is I guess.

People like what they like. I worked with a die hard gas lover. He would rather drive a chevy 366 in a medium duty chevy then a 3126. He even would rather have the big 600 plus cubic inch engine that chevy put in the 9000 series back in the early 70's then any diesel offered. Its just like the Chevy , ford, dodge battle.

yea im with you guys. people buy them to look cool and its stupid. i do tell alot of people you dont need a diesel just get a gasser. but this kid i was talkin to has his own mowin business and its gonna start growing, and he'll need the power more than likely.
my diesel is a daily driver, but in the summer its gonna be workin. so it evens out

So far none of my 3 work. I had another 89 I used to plow with but my current fleet are just toys. My 92 has a bulk fuel tank in the bed but thats it. When I bought my current 89 12 years ago it only carried my lunch box for years. I hate gassers and would not have a gas dodge for any reason. They are crap as far as I am concerned.

I don't really need a diesel either, but I need a truck. My dad charged the right price for my first gen, so I bought it fair and square, and I can actually afford to fill it up over a 12-14mpg 3/4 ton chev.
