Smile Huge Filter Sale!

I havn't been on the site for a while, so please forgive me if this has been mentioned, but NAPA is blowing all NAPA Gold filters (built by Wix) out at rediculous prices. I happened in to one of their stores, and pulled up to a large poster on the window, so asked. Here are the prices I was charged: fuel filter...$8.49, Air Filter...14.39, and Oil Filter...4.79. I stocked up, and am thinking about picking up some more. I was told that this was the first time NAPA has done this, and it runs through the month of June.

The counterman indicated that this was the first time that NAPA has done this, but that he thought they were gonna do it once per year. To me, this sounds like it is nation-wide. He also stated that the prices were well under the price they have to pay, and anytime I think I can buy under the store price, I get pretty excited.

My NAPA charged 24ish last Friday for a fuel filter for the 95. My comment was, "I guess I missed the sale", counter guy (owner) just looked at me and took my money.

My local NAPA has been doing a 90% off Wix filters one day sale every spring for the last 15 years. I give them a list a couple weeks in advance for an average of $500 worth of filters (I save $4500!) and pick them up on sale day.

I was told Wix corporate pays for this and that any Napa dealer who wants can get involved but many decide not to. Reason being the dealer's profit is diminished by doing this and they know many people will buy a year's worth of filters.
