HUGE air filter dilemma solved

After two months of hard searching I finally found a replacement air filter for the one that was on my truck. This Filter is 10.25 inches in Diameter and 10.50 in long. I searched at all the mainstream auto parts stores with no luck. I finally found the receipt from the previous owner and called Colorado Diesal Emissions to see if they could give me a part number. I was told that they had the filter specially made and that they would not give me the part number and hung up on me after I told thjem I was over an hour away. This ****** me off. So I made a trip out to rocky Mountain Cumins and found this filter. If you are interested in removing the stock air box but do not want to pay the huge prices for the gause filters, Fleetguard makes a huge filter that will flow almost as well as any guaze filter. The fleetguard number is AH19037. It slides right on to the stock air hose and will sit where the the original box sat. The cost was around $43.00. As for COLORADO DIESEL EMISSIONS. Don't bother

And it looks cool too.

Better yet would be the Marine version, due to it's having the wire mesh inside as well as outside, but they were out when I got mine, took their last AH19037 even.

I replaced the BHAF marine filter with an AFE Proguard 7 and prefilter. Turbo yells, EGT's down by 50 to 100 degrees, dirt does not penetrate. Costs less than the marine, too. Won't go back.

427AC, congrats on your find. , wish I could find one .

Tartarus, where did you find your ProGuard 7. I've made a few phone calls and no one had one in stock. I want one now.

Also, what'd you pay?

Thanks, the original BHAF guy.

Moparguy:
I bought mine at an off-road racing outfitter in Las Vegas for $86. I know that Geno's Garage is selling them for $93.

Marine BHAF's are a lot more expensive than the plain-Janes. Internal wire mesh and a waterproof filter material. $112 was the cheapest I could find.
