Well, im not sure if you could do an axle swap or not. I would guess that you could, but im not sure. I would at least think you could in the open class, but i cant really see it making a lot of difference in performance as long as its reliable. Good luck finding a new truck!
Its always exciting to get a new truck to play with. Good luck

"How long till the Duramax catches the Cummins (1/4mi)?" Depends on how far ahead the Cummins is when he puts on the brakes...
just a little morning fun

With a stock motor and a stock turbo you can hit 700+ with intake, exhaust, bigger injectors & nos
Without a bigger turbo available in the aftermarket we need the nos to get more air, just think of it as a 2nd turbo in a bottle
Why don't more Cummins guys use nitrous? Does it not work as well on a Cummins? Do the headgaskets not like it ?
Hitting 222 in the salt was cool but the Sidewinder didn't impress me in the 1/4 mile only running 12.1 in a Dakota. I wonder what it weighs.
My truck will run 12.5 on diesel with a 6500# race weight, stock motor with a stock turbo and stock injectors

What are your EGT's like running that kind of power with the stock turbo? What kind of boost are you seeing? Cummins guys like to see how much they can make on straight #2. More fun that way.

Not sure what my max egt's are but I peg a 1500 degree gauge for 8-10 seconds on a 1/4 mile pass
I've got over 82000 on the clock and I've put over 35 miles on the truck at the dragstrip. If high EGT's were a problem something would have given up by now.
The aluminum heads a can live with higher EGT's better than a cast iron heads.
The IHI turbo is designed for continuous operation at 800 degree Celsius or 1472 degree Fahrenheit.
I'm making my power on straight #2 also. I'm not using propane or water/alky for added fuel.

I have a video of a fella in a Cummins and he runs a 10.41 and totally blows the doors off a 'stang. No info on the truck other than fast as all get out.
It wasn't a little Dak conversion(no offense to the Sidewinder) either... full size 3/4 QC SB looks to be 4x4 as well...
anybody know how I can go about posting it somewhere for all to see??

If so, I think I know who it is.

I assume that video is on a 1000 ft track? Anybody know what 10.41 at 110.80 converts to in the quarter mile?
(My calcs tell me that a 740 rwhp truck at 7000 lbs should be running around 11.9 or so at 115.)
Not sure if 7000 is right for a qc 4x4 either though....
Thanks for the video, man - AWESOME!![Big Grin](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
