Help me make up my mind

My wife and I own a 08 3500 dually w/ 6.7. We are happy with the truck and have 98,000 mile on it now. The only real problem we have had with it was the turbo took a crap. Dodge replaced it for free. I have been looking @ the new 3500 dually's and 2500 and was thinking of selling or trading it in on a new one. Someone told me about the use of Urea in the newer trucks and told me it's a pain in the Edit, just another expense. I found it @ Autozone for 15.00 for 2.5 gal. How much does the truck use? Wife drives about 1000 miles a month to work with the truck, says she feels safe in that big rig. Do the newer models have any major issues? I found a dealer who has a new 2012 3500 and there are quite a few 2013 still on the lots. Thanks for any input.

Don't know of anyone with personal experiences of the Dodges, but I have a close friend with the Furd, actually 2 of them now, a 2011 and a 2012. Both use significantly more Urea than Ford says they should.

If you are happy with the 08, I would say hang onto it.

You can fill DEF tank at the flying J for 2.79 a gallon

I have a 2011 Superduty and a Case IH puma 170 cvt and they both use DEF. No problems so far.

I usually have to to the DEF tank in the ford around 6500 miles

A friend of mine bought a new 2014 2500 recently. He uses about 1 gallon of fluid every 1200 miles. That's commuting and around town, mild weather.

The fluid is available at Wal-Mart; $13 for 2.5 gallons.

That's not to bad. I figure my wife will drive 1,000 to 1,200 miles a month, so an extra 5.00 to 6.00 bucks wont be the end of the world. Thanks.
