the variable turbo basically changes the angle at which the exhaust enters the housing and onto the turbine wheel by means of a shudder and a nozzle. This is just like having an automatic change from a 9cm housing to a 21cm housing.

Exhaust (burnt fuel) leaving the manifold is what turns the impeller and shaft. The thicker and faster it leaves relates to how fast the turbo spins. If he had enough fuel (exhaust) to make 12-15psi at idle, he would smoke like a freight train, and wash his cylinder walls down very quickly.

I think the Powerstrokes with straight pipes sound like misery dipped in *dung*, but then I don't care much for loud diesels at all. I got my fill of listening to straight piped 335's in rattle-trap Diamond T cabs a long time ago.

He mentioned how he hated the sound of the 6.0 straight piped. He said, "it's not an inline 6"!

I asked him how he chose the PS over the Duramax and the Cummins he simply stated I wanted a "louder truck". THe Duramax and the Cummins were too quiet for him. I told him he should have gotten an 02 Cummins!! He said "OHH you can shake a neighborhood with those things"

How is the MBRP exhaust system?? Again dual exit!!

Straight Piped Powersrokes (any Turbo'd V8 Diesel for that matter) sound just like a Duck farting in a mud puddle!!

The only exception to this is the 903 V8 Cummins I heard.
