This is good for a giggle.....

Saw this on the "official" Powerstroke site........

The Power Stroke Diesel Story
For the last ten years, Power Stroke Diesel engines have been the undisputed leader in diesel power for heavy duty trucks.

The Power Stroke story really began back in 1983 with the 6.9 liter indirect injection diesel, introduced in Ford's F-series trucks. In 1997, Ford introduced the 7.3 liter indirect injection diesel and improved it with the addition of a turbocharger in 1993 .

Then, in 1994, diesel power entered a new dimension as the first "Power Stroke" hit the market with the 7.3 liter direct injection turbo diesel. With power, performance and durability that outmatched the competition, the 7.3 liter diesel quickly established Ford Power Stroke as the brand in diesel truck power.

In 2002, the all-new 6.0 liter Power Stroke Diesel engine introduced the next diesel era, and Ford's super-duty trucks took another quantum leap ahead of the competition.

I can't beleive they failed to mention that the F700 & F800 series
FORD trucks run Cummins engines "in the real HEAVY DUTY CLASS"
The power stroke is a light duty not even a medium duty diesel.

1988 they introduced the 7.3 IDI. Pitched a turbo on it for one year around '94. Ford didn't call the older IDI powerstrokes. That only came up when they went direct injection. First ones ate injector seals like they were lunch. Would consume engine oil in a big way. Later ones were good. I do believe that the part about the 6.0 being the next diesel era is a bit of a stretch. Era for buybacks maybe...

True, but at least it didn't end with ....and they all (PSD owners) lived happily ever after. Oh wait, then it would be a fairy tail, hence, not true.

This one sounds like it was coming from John Kerry, and next week he'll be tooting the greatness of the Cummins

I own a PSD Excursion 7.3 and although it is a (the only) nice diesel SUV it cannot compare to my cummins 12V. Just my .02! And if you were to read the forums about that wounderful 6.0 you would have a hard time selling one to me, there seems to be alot of people trying to get rid of them thru dealer buy backs and what ever it takes. These forums are no friends of the product manufactures,as we read and get the real story first hand from common vehicle owners. So I guess ya it is a good laugh
