Good experiences at a Dealership?

I think people like to hear both sides of the issue.
I would have said nothing but it just bothers me when big business comes on the board and then gets favored by the website supervisor. It makes me go, whats up with this?

What was the original topic of the thread?

PS: Did I kick your dog in a past life or something?

Tho I admit I never saw one wearing a halter before
Had a good experience..
this past summer when I was looking for my 3500, i stopped by the local dealer and asked..they didn't have what I was looking for but would do some calling around, i told them i was ready to buy NOW, 2 days later I stopped by again, well they got a chance to check on it yet. I said fine and left, drove an hour away, bang, found what I was looking for, made a point to go back to local dealer and let them see what I found, they were like "you bought one some where else??" Ok here is the good experience part- In Sept. wife deciedes we need a van, I stop by local dealer again, figure I'll give them a chance, this time it was major butt kissing, let me drive home a different van every night for a week then said what are you wanting your payments to be, told them, 1 hour later called me back got under my monthly payment by $25.00. They have either sent a letter or called about every two weeks to thank me for buying from them this time and see if there are any problems, already came and picked the wifes van up and serviced it and delivered it back to her. It has been great this time. The dealership has had some issues in the past and has new sales manager that asked me "so what I am buying at the county fair next summer? a ham or lamb?" my daughter is in 4-H and we usually sell a market animal or ham and this dealer has become a great 4-H & FFA supporter in our county.
But sadly, most of my past dealing with dealers has not been good.

Probably get flamed for this one. Bought my '05 from a local dealer 'cause I had visited there previously and liked the sales guy I talked too. He was very relaxed, let me take a test drive (in a CTD), and didn't say much when I returned.
The young fella that sold me the truck could of been my son. I enjoyed talking to him and hearing how he was working his way up the ranks at the dealership. He'd started by being a lot boy and worked real hard to make it to sales. I liked him.
When I went to financing (I was paying cash), I just wanted to sign the papers and get out of there. Turns out the finance guy was real nice, good listener, didn't sell me anything I didn't want.
Overall the experience has been a good one. Even the service department has come through.
This is not typical of the experiences I've had in the past. Bought a Caravan from a different local dealer and hated them from day two (when I had to talk to them about a problem with the brakes). Wouldn't go there if they were giving the trucks away. Was lied too, work wasn't done properly, etc. etc.
Anyway, I believe YOU make the difference in the deal not just the dealer. I am NOT a victim. True dealers can be devious but you can always walk away. The tough one is the service department. Have to say that, by and large, they SUCK. I'd rather have a tooth pulled than deal with service managers. Not sure why they are this way.
...end of sermon.
