Good experiences ????

Well with this 99 do-g- 24 v. It started the day I took it home. The pounding noise up the gear stick was deafining when It it back them all the dash lights were on and chiming. They found that the ECM plugin was out 1/8" which I suspect is the cause of the bad arcing to the electrical system. Took out a diode in the PCM. The lack of power was perpetualy reafermated by being handly beat out of an intersection by a loaded welding truck.( they would have 4000 plus lbs on my weight.) But they spent more time tring to convience me that it met all accerleation tests. Then still get passed by a truck pulling a trailer.!!!!!!! But the best one was the dollarships diesel tech hahahahahaha tell me that the 130 rwhp" was about right" out of a 235 engine the one mech was adamant on the 40% driveline loss up to the other year.I just have to find someone that knows more then them.I have 39 visits to the dollarships and cumins shops.I lost respect for cumins when they weren't able to diagnos a t-stat not working with and engine temp of 235*F and the top of the rad at 114*f and the bottom of the rad 86*f These guys run the dyno all the time. This is inexcusable.

As for the factory steering. The wheel osolated between 10 and 2 o-clock as you drove down the road, wasn't picked up when it was PDIed and not on the first 2 visits.I had to tell them what was wrong and how find the problem. They did weasel out of fixing the caused problems so it was my $5000.00 that had to fix the factory SNAFU's. Couldn't verify customers conserns at this time.

If I was that INCOMPETENT as an electrician I would never be working. As for the one gent that commented about all us ( ME) naysayers be very glad that you got one that works because I have found that they don't even follow the maintenance manuals procedures, and electrical seems to be very misunder stood by all of them.

The fan motor that I told the one dollarship in edmonton to replace because I diagnosed the different avenues of reasons chose to do other so that cost me $1100.00 plus For that money I would have taken the time at MINUS -20+++ C temperature to change it. Thats all right girlfriend and I changed it and it still works the way it did when we put it in. I DON'T FIND THAT THEY HAVE ANY DIAGNOSTIC SKILLS OR HONOR. Just stop tring to BS me and lye to me. With tring to find a good dealership I am finding that talking what is above them they aren't interested in fixing the problem.

You know I still hope that this will be fixed and set right. IDIOT it's for YOu.

I had a 86 Toyota P/U that had head gasket and rear oil seal problems although it was out of warranty and from a different province it was covered by warranty. With the comment "Very sorry Mr Carberry our Toyota's don't have these problems just out of warranty so please sign here." and the oil on the clutch is from out fault so it was replaced at NO cost.
If cryslurr was half as good they would get respect from me. I was just used to being treated as a valued customer and not taken advantage of every step of the way.

So with this HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR.

I've had good relations with two Dodge dealers over the years. One was Youngblood Dodge in Madison, GA and the other is Waycross Dodge in Waycross, GA.

Maybe what they have in common is that they are both small town dealerships. Way-x Dodge found me a nice trade-in when I balked (almost fainted, actually) at what they would finance a new truck for - $$$ - it seems strange to me that you can have such good credit that they'll finance 1/3 of one's monthly take-home pay. I think it's sort of like ebay - no reserve. Have a major health or property crisis, and the house of cards collapses.

I met the diesel tech before I actually bought the truck, and *somebody* back in the service department told me which salesperson to talk to up front.

Youngblood Dodge sold me the first V8 Dakota they'd ever ordered. I speced it out for trailer towing , and it had 68 miles on it when they delivered it. (I think the entire dealership must have test driven it.)

Way-x Dodge finally discovered a long-standing problem with the driver's side window that the truck had from the beginning. It was a crimp in the window channel way down inside the door. $144 fixed it, and the window worked finally worked the way it was supposed to. That was a factory defect, but I was satisfied with the quality of the rest of the truck. I put 128K miles without incident (other than faded black paint - I had it repainted last year.)

Way-x Dodge are also very tolerant about after-market mods on my 2003, although I haven't done any yet. One guy told me, "Just take out any boxes before you bring it in, and gauges on an otherwise stock-appearing truck will NEVER give us cause to deny a warrantee claim." I told them that I'd let them do the 40,000 mile service (with oil I provide), and then I'll start doing the regular change intervals myself. They were cool with that, too. (Wait untill they see the Stratapore... I may use their fuel filter, as far as I know - haven't decided yet.)

They charged me $168 for a transmission fluid change and band adjustment, and the tech found two rivets missing in the lower fan shroud, which had been letting it slide upward during acceleration and making a strange sound. They did that repair in the parking lot at no charge to me.

The tech told me to put a fuel pressure gauge on it so I could watch the lift pump. At any sign of LP trouble, he said I should install a FASS to save the CP3, and they could do it in about four hours. I like that my diesel tech talks like the folks here.

Yes, I'm pretty happy with my last two Dodge dealers.

I don't have much dealership experience yet , just the parts department...

They sold me a TPS in a cummins box (this was surprizing to me for some reason).

They also sold me 12L of atf+4 (neither I nor they knew how much i actually needed) at cost , then refunded the returned portion at list price no complaints here.

Now here is a dealer ready to sell trucks.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge...99731095QQrdZ1

Don't mind the price it's an error. Read the terms of the sale.

Invoice price less rebates, less 1/2 the 3% hold back = out the door sale.

NO sales commision paid, NO documentation fees, NO BS.

......and that is where they start negotiations.

Could you show me a post where some one came on to complain about a dealership and then someone working for a dealership came on to defend themselves and you posted some thing simular to your above quote.

I think people like to hear both sides of the issue.

I would have said nothing but it just bothers me when big business comes on the board and then gets favored by the website supervisor. It makes me go, whats up with this?

It's almost as frustrating working at a dealer as being a customer at one. Dealers, trying to maximize profit, try to pay everyone on a commission basis. In the service dept., there are different types of techs, some are knowledgeable, and take pride in their work using problem-solving ability. Often, that costs that technician an hour or two a day. Every big shop seems to have at least 1 or 2 $100,000 per year techs. These guys make great money, yet they never seem to have the ability to diagnose anything. Something comes in running bad, they just sell 'em a tuneup and a flush and park it outside. At the end of the year, the numbers are great, and these guys look golden in management's eyes. Nobody seems to notice how many customers have gone away mad and broke.

The problem comes from the management level, but it picks up steam as it goes downhill, and it's very attractive to employees with less integrity. I'm not saying all dealers are like this, but they seem to be becoming more common, and I can't see myself ever being a part of it again.

I don't understand something. What is the name of this thread? Does it say GOOD experiences or BAD experiences? The original poster asked for GOOD experiences not bad ones. If you have some bad experiences then START YOUR OWN POST.

Tom I think some people just don't get it, they don't care that they are taking a thread off topic. Thanks for trying
