Man their pushing some good numbers.They're achieving Diesel land-speed records with back-hoe engines. The fastest Diesel drag rails use I-6 industrial engines. You know, it just makes me wonder what would be possible if somebody were to design Diesel engines specifically for performance...

I watched a documentary on that thing and apparently they had problems with burning off tires when it came out of the corners because they had well over 800 ftlbs of torque.
What is the land speed record for a diesel powered vehicle now??
