Our Fire Department has a 5-ton that hauls 3,000 gallons of water. I love to drive that thing and hear it scream. We had a straight pipe on it, but had to pull it and put a muffler on because people thought it was to loud when we went screaming through town in the middle of the night for a fire. The winch on those things will pull pretty much anything you want it to. Ours is an older model with the 478 Hercules/White motor in it, I know at least some of the newer one have a CUMMINS!!

That's less than I thought (got reply in notification e-mail before edit) Anyone know why these kind of trucks go for such "low" prices? They may not be the ultimate truck but to me they sure are up there in the pack.

One day I will probably buy one, several years down the road.

they go cheap now because there are so many of them on the market. as far as parts... there is a bottomless pit of parts for them and they are CHEAP. i can get a new pass window for 5 bucks when he gets another one in. i got it as a nonrunner all it needed was a trans case. i got one 0 hour rebuilt for 250.

There was one around here that was only a single rear axle and the guy swapped the duals for, I think 49's. I was a beast I would love to have bought. IIRC he was asking $5000 or $5500 for it.

not sure what it is about these turbos but all the c turbos will sound like this. the d turbos make a small amount more boost but dont really whistle at all. the c turbo is so much fun going through town in low range.... the single axel truck is just a bobbed deuce. its a deuce and a half, half lol.

I've done some searching, and I can't find any info on the C turbos. Is there a specific model # for the turbo, or the manufacturer name. I want more of the jet sound whine from my 12 valve that the 6 liter powerstrokes have.

Thanks,

William
