general inline pump adjustment

Is there a way on any inline injection pump to increase the fuel flow other then by installing a modified fuel plate? Could there be fuel screws on some of them like rotary pumps? Also, where are the fuel plates generally located in an inline injection pumps?

in the govenor case, what is involved with a stock pump is moving the rack further than it is now, if you had a spare you could take it apart and look at how they control the movment of the rack, in the old days we took end cap off tack weld or attach a pull cable to it, when foot reached full we would pull on cable and over ride all fuel control, lots of fun fuel was .16 cents gal. and nobody cared about smoke. YUP! times have changed. Ron

where abouts is the governor case generally located on one an inline pump? The reason i am asking these questions is I am trying to figure out how to turn the pump up on a 504 case engine.

On that particular pump with that style governor there should be a plate on the back of the pump and there are screws inside that adjust. Don't ask me which one, I've never done one, but I do know thats how the pumps without the plate in them adjust. Certain A and P pumps adjust that way.

It is a "A pump", and i did start to take off the plate in the back until engine oil started coming out. Is this normal? Does it just take oil from the engine to lubricate it's insides?

Well, i found an old "A" injector pump from an old case 451 engine, and took it off. I then took off the back plate, and saw that there is a bolt with a nut used to tighten it. So, i loosened it off, and the throttle lever moved with it. Is this the idle adjuster, or fuel adjuster??
