I have used Howes diesel treat a-lot and I think it has done a good job. A lot
of truckers seem to buy it at Flying J stations. Has anyone used it and how does it compare
to say Lucas????

There are lots of threads on this subject. I won't tell you to search first because that ****'s me off when someone tells me that. The secret formula is a dose of power service and a couple ounces of MMO (Magic Marvil Oil) My truck is brand spankin new but this is what I am going with on my next fill up. I don't know that one is worst than any others but this is the formula that I read the most about.

I have never tried the Howe's, but work with a guy that use's the Lucas Upper Cylinder treatment. He has a 98 CTD he bought new, and has used Lucas in it since new. He has a little over 80K now with no fuel related problems.

I have been using Power Service (gray bottle) for about six months and have read about some using the PS with 2 cycle ashless oil mixture. Of course my main concern for a additive is for helping to keep the injector pump a little slicker.

i use power service,the one and only time i tried something else the fuel jelled,it was howes,don't know if it was related or not but i'am not going to find out...

It's a "Use what you like in your truck" kinda thing.
They're all pretty much alike.
I've used Howes in every tank-full for several years, never had a complaint nor trouble.
About a year ago I switched to Stanadyne PF for the added lubricity and cetane boost.
