Right now diesel is about $.10 cheaper than regular unleaded in my area. Just paid $1.70 for regular unleaded to fill up the Hog.

I posted a couple of pages back that it's been $1.75 for 2 or 3 months at a high volume station near me. (Mobil) It's still $1.75 (must be 4 months now) and 87, 89 and 93 are $1.77, $1.87 and $ 1.97. No idea why it's been stable here, unlike the rest of the country.

Gas price wise, they're the highest $$ station in town.

Don't know if this is available everywhere, but if you use a AAA credit card for gas, you save 5% here. We got them just for that reason.

Road trip this past weekend from DFW to Lower Alabama and back. Diesel on Highway 98 between Hattiesburg, MI and Mobile AL was $1.45/gal. In Hattiesburg it was $1.49.

In beautiful down town Burbank saw 3 different prices at lunch today for diesel 2.33 at 76, 2.48 at shell, and 2.59 at Chevron next to freeway.

Going to Beatty, Nv. this week-end for The Horseshoe tournament, anybody know if they have Diesel there? It's 241 miles from my house and I'll carry an extra 10 gallons. I know I can get it in Mojave but beyond there I'm not sure.

Broken Pipeline Spills Diesel in Bay Area
By TERENCE CHEA, Associated Press Writer

SAN FRANCISCO - A broken pipeline has spilled as much as 1 million gallons of diesel fuel into Suisun Bay, which feeds into San Francisco Bay, the EPA said Thursday.

A state environmental official said the amount of fuel spilled could be significantly lower. Officials said the exact amount would not be known until the pipe is fixed and refilled.

The petroleum pipeline owned by Kinder-Morgan Energy Partners ruptured Wednesday and spilled the fuel into the Suisun Marsh, said Mark Merchant, a spokesman for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (news - web sites).

The spill was spread over about 300 yards in the marsh, Michaels said.

Emergency response teams are trying to clean up as much of the spill as possible in the area about 25 miles northeast of San Francisco.

Kinder Morgan noticed a drop in pipeline pressure around 6 p.m. Tuesday night and shut down that section of the pipeline, said Dana Michaels, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Fish and Game.

State and federal agencies were notified of the spill Wednesday.
