I think most people on this site have done OK on wrraties, I know I have. I took out the longest aftermaket warranty they offrred so, I am still covered until 6/2009. Chrylser/Dodge dealers are important to a lot of customers as well as the dealer's employees that work there.
Chrysler Dodge is pivately owned and I do not think the union has any controlling vote.
To me, the biggest issue would be losing Dodge CTD as a truck option. We all love Cummins for the most part. Dodge trucks qualkiity has been better, I would say going back to 2000. I think most people would agree that the Carter lift pump on the block ws the biggest problem for any Gen 2.
Just think if your only future choices were Ford and Chevy. What a sad world.

What might be the possibility that Sterling take on the Dodge truck? They already sell a variation of the 4500/5500, called the Bullet?

Isn't Sterling folding next month? I was told by a few folks that own them that Sterling is shutting down.

Not for long . http://jalopnik.com/5063260/daimler-...-cut-3500-jobs . There is also concern about the Dodge 4500/5500 because their frames are made by Sterling . Nobody wants to answer questions about this .
