Fear of Chrysler going out of business?
Whar are your concerns with the current state of Chrysler and the makers of our CTD's? Obviously Warranty is concern, not to mention parts. In the current Consumer Report, they reported on the Ameican Car industry, Chrsler's bright spot was the new Ram 1500. Their cars were rated pooly, overall. I think a merger with Nissan would make sense.
I have no concerns about warranty as it's not worth the paper written on anyway. It's completely hit or miss whether a dealer honors warranty or not - besides (no offense to the good ones on here), I'd never let a dealer tech touch my truck anyway - they continue to prove to be useless.
Parts? There will always be parts. The same block that's on my truck exists in the 20 y/o combine on the farm - there's a 1950 Massey 44, Cockshutt, Diesel Special I can still get parts for.
There are bigger things to worry about than if Chrysler goes out of business.

Driveline is all other companies, so if Chrysler goes belly up, it will be chassis/body stuff, and the aftermarket is starting to get more into the Dodge stuff. Warranty? Thats never been a concern of mine, never owned a vehicle new enough to have one.
Hasn't Dodge or Chryco filed banko before? Remember way back when Ricardo Montelban ran the K car commercials with Real Corinthian Leather?
Didn't they file back then?
Or when AMC went down and Jeep was saved? For me personally its not on the lists of concerns. Didn't a couple of tire manufacturers merge to avoid the toilet too?

Is Dodge considered Chrysler in this whole bail out thing? I remember reading that Cerberus wanted to get rid of Chrysler. Would this be just Chrysler, or the Whole Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler, DD, Mercedes, etc?

I don't know about that . UAW are the major equity holders in Chysler now . I think they'd let Chrysler die before selling out to Nissan .
In response to Dinner : Dodge and Jeep are part of Chrysler LLC . Mercedes and DD are not . Chrysler stopped production of Plymouths in 2001 .

I worry about the health of Chrysler Corporation. Our 2008 Jeep has a lifetime powertrain warranty. That was one of the deciding factors for us when we were shopping last year.
Our '03 Dodge 2500 still has some engine warranty and the remainder of the 7/70 Drivetrain warranty (at 60K now).
I have never had an issue with ChryCo warranty work where I do business.

Other choice was.....
I would imagine that was a gamble, and Chrysler won on that one!
Nope, used the $2500 towards the purchase price and wrote one check, out the door pricing.
At $15K TT&T, I couldn't touch the competition. Of course I could probably write the same deal now for under $14,250! Still, when you take TT&T out, it made the sale price of the vehicle $13,855.
