F-350 Super Duty
I just got my Trailer Life, they did a review on the new 350.
Some intersting specs:
HP: 350@3000 Torque: 650 @2000
Tranny: 5 speed auto
Axle 4.30
Fuel economy Towing(12K+ 4 people) 8.4, Solo 14.6
Tow rating, as tested: 16,000
Weight at Tested: 8700lbs
GVWR: 13, 000 GVwr: 29,000
Lenght 21' 10"
MSRP: $58,648
It would seem to me it has little, other than a steep price, over a 3500, or even MegaCab. I would hate to see the cost of a decked out 450.
It's mileage is almost as bad as a gaser. The 4.30 gears make our 4:11's look positively economical.
It's tow rating seems about like the 3500.. Torque comes in 400 rpm higher.
8700 Lbs? Not sure if that is empty.
About the onle good thing is the brake controller.
For a new model, it seems to not be anything special, especially at that price.
Thoughts? Comments?

4.30 gears? Whats up with that? Guess that powerstroke just requires some really low gears so it can rev really high to get a load moving .

He said he pulled his camper w/ a buddie's 04 6.0 w. 3.73's and couldn't hold his speed up Tijeras Canyon here, so he went w/ the 4.30's.
I don't think that says much for the 6.0's. I don't tow much w/ my DMax, but I pulled about 12k lbs up the canyon a couple months ago w/ my LB7, Edge on lvl 2, and it chugged along in 5th gear (o/d) at 60 mph and never hinted at a downshift.

My next door neighbor. He has a 2008 F-550 4door Lariat 4x4 black on black auto. I want to say it has like 5:13 gears he swares up and down he is getting 9mpg empty or loaded. Daily driver from the plant. Only thing he pulls is a 18,000LB camper and a tractor. Stick price in the glove box 78,950. Could of got me 2 new really nice dodges.

If Dodge tried to sell this product, it would be a dismal failure. Ford puts it on the market and, they have so many faithful, they buy it anyway. Even trailer Life did not comment on how pathetic the mileage was, but then, they need the big Ford Advertising revenue.
As PT Barnum said, "A fool and his money will soon buy a PowerStroke". Or something like that!

6.0 mileage
My co-worker has an '06 King Ranch 4-door 6.0. It has 10,000+ miles now. It's way noisier than his 2000 7.3(great truck by the way)and has never delivered more than 10.5 mpg. since new. Completely stock, pizza cutter tires and all. He's not a happy camper at all. No warranty issues yet, though.
