I did a smoke show for a guy at work yesterday who owns a late model Duramax (either '05 or '06). He asked me what I had done to it because he wanted to do some upgrades to his truck. I guess Banks is the only company he's heard of so I wanted to provide him with other resources. He's more interested in a module than a downloader so does anybody out there know what some of the better boxes out there for the Duramaxes are? Also wanted to direct him to some Duramax forums. I'd do the searching myself, but I'm at work on some frustratingly slow computers.

 

edge products are really nice on the duramax. a guy i work with just put one on his 06 and loves it

dieselplace.com is the main site. As far as boxes go EFILive is by far the best. And can also be the cheapest if adjustability isn't an issue. A shop can load a "tune" of his choice on his truck for somthing in the $100.00+/- area. The only problem with that is if it needs to go to the dealer or if he wants it back to stock he'll have to have it removed by the same shop. You can tune the truck yourself with EFILive but it costs a little more.

 

200 bucks will buy you a good EFI Live tune.

 

I had a Diablo sport Predator on my 04.5 duramax and it ran really strong.

alot of EFI Live tunes are based off "factory" tunes with modifications to them. like a predator, edge, stuff like that.

 

EFIlive...definetly...no other diesel tuning stuff (including ford/dodge as well) can touch it IMO.
