Side by Side with Duramax

Got to see my first 03 yesterday at the Georgia National Fair in Perry. The dealer is a Dodge and Chevy dealer so he had a 4 door 2500 HO 6 speed and a Duramax there....together. The bulk of the crowd agreed the Cummins was quieter.

Compared to my 01, the seats are a little smaller and it doesn't appear to have the "beef" of the 01. But I did really like the truck. First impression on the engine was that with my hand resting on the valve cover, one finger lifted there was NO vibration up there. Unbelievable. Plastic fan didn't do much for me. I'd hate to see a blade through the radiator. Doors closed, couldn't hear the engine running and quite honestly, I believe one could hit the starter with the engine already running if you didn't check the tach. I'm very impressed with the common rail. I didn't drive it but will after the fair.

Just wanted to bring this to the top. It was the 1st 3rd gen post on this forum.

Very simple description of a dealer truck.

Dated 2002, I assume when this site was born, since there's nothing older than that.

We've come a long way... Both here and in the Dodge/Cummins world.

I remember posting to the old TDR when it was the CDW (Cummins Diesel Website). They went to being a pay site and since I was real young and real poor I came here.

Glad I stayed here!! I like it better!!

I don't even have TDR anymore, I don't like the fact I have to pay to browse a site.
I know the owners already make a killing from the advertisements, no need tio give them more money, right....

LoL. I didn't see the date of this post at first.

I was thinking to my self. This guy must live beneath a rock, not seeing a CR or a Dmax for many many years.
