ATS DuraMax
New technology out for a look!
ATS Diesel Performance started looking at the Chevy
duramax truck for a good test subject. The new dodge
was not out yet for this technology. The duamax engine
looked to be a good test for high power.
When we got the first look at the fuel & air system
we found the main high-pressure pump was the same as
the new Dodge Common Rail system from Robert Bosch.
Looking at the fuel injectors we found similar design.
The start was getting the electronic high performance
end completed first; we then went to increase the fuel
and how it was done. We found in short order that we
also needed more air to go with it. This started the
turbo work shown in photo.
This is a highbred using a 17cm turbine 1.0 ar
housing. The down pipe is 4" all the way out and to
follow up with the new air intake manifolds. This is
just one of the new high HP setups being released for
the market. Look at the BIG difference from factory in
photo.
The drive train has all the backing with our full
level 2 Allison upgrades. This gives the driver
control over the Allison transmission, in front is the
TriplelokT torque converter. The first tests have been
571hp at over 1100ftlbs before the turbo change. The
truck runs a 13.4 at 101mph now. This will give the
next big step needed for the Chevy.
This is a look at what's to come from the new Dodge.
We have been working extra on the Dodge as well. ATS
Diesel is also giving us a second look at the
technology with the ISB 24 valve also.
Should be some good fun putting down some high power
with the next generation trucks. Our drive train is
now ready for new demand. Stay in touch for the next
level from ATS. Thought we would give a glance at the
new work in progress.

Well, I know from my carefully schooled training on this site that that is not a Cummins 5.9 diesel engine. What's it used for, pumping water in wells or something?? <br><br>~Dave

Nah, its a Chevrolet Fogger System for mosquito elimination. You drive by a pond, hit the throttle hard, and when the head gasket blows, you kill all the bugs in the area...<br><br>Rod
