Man you got that right , I always wondered about that too . Sure is ugly seeing all that frame hanging out there. Absolutely amazed the other guys are pulling so much rpm out of their engines , that's alot of weight to be throwing around in there . Our "big " Cummins at work have 2200 rpm redlines , there is a reason for that .......... can you say DURABILITY !!!

6000 for the Duramax is a bit too high for redline, by only about 3000 RPM. We got a 2001 over here that redlines and wont go over 3000-ish... Even as a V-8, it's still a 400-ish displacement and still has a heavy bottom end compared to a gasser. Don't know about stroke though...

Anybody that spins a diesel to 5000 RPM must have a bundle of cash laying around . To each their own ya know , but man that's just asking for disaster . At least he's not trying that with that joke of an engine Ford has !!

Yeah well, he's got the money to pay to fix it.

We usally runs the Edge Box wide open and the stall converter is startin to feel it.
