Brave or Stupid??? or Pretty Impressive!!

Hauled a bunch of hay today near home in the hills of E. Kentucky. Heaviest load was a total of 30,500 lbs (16 rolls plus truck and trailer). The truck did ok, of course I wasn't running 60 or anything. Lots of shifting with the darn 3.55s, and all this with the LP and VP going out....fun fun!! Runs good.............dead pedal pulling a steep grade............comes back and throws you to the seat. Back to the dealer we go!!

What are you all's all time heavy loads?

We load like that, and heavier, pretty regular.

But, in regards to your load, one must also consider your location.

Only someone from W.Virginia, Northern Pennsylvania, or East Tennessee can appreciate how steep and crooked the roads of Eastern Kentucky are.

Not to mention the fourteen foot right-of-ways, meeting big tri-axle coal-buckets, one right after another, with the right front truck tire in the ditch, while the left trailer-tandem is in the grass on the wrong side of the road.

It makes me nervous, just typing about it.

Glad somebody understands!! I would not be all that impressed with the load if hauling in flatlander country i.e. high ways, flat farm country in Indiana, Illinois etc..., but when the road ain't a whole lot wider than the 10' load gets a little hairy sometimes lol... I reckon you would have to live around here..... Any how the truck got to the dealer tonite, and we will see if they listen to me now!!

Somewhere on here is a guy that hauled 40K from TX to Alaska with a 3/4 ton! Had the pics to prove it. Triple axle trailer with 4 wheels per axle and only overloaded by 200lbs per tire. I was impressed.

that was ridofpwerstroke i believe, he made a LONG drive from AK to TX to get the trailer, and i believe he also stopped into a big diesel tuner's shop to have fuel and twins put on his truck before heading north to WI or something to pick up the steel then all the way back to AK.

that was an impressive haul

If memory serves me right, he picked up the trailer in TX., the load in NE. (a disassembled metal building, vehicle hoist, ATV, etc.) & towed it to AK.

Weight was over 43,000 lbs.

Pretty amazing!!!

Atleast my nissan has had a 2000 pound trailer loaded with a 3000 pound ford ranger.
Its also had 900 pounds of roofing in the bed.

Go sit in the corner until you can find a decent load.

Clear me up on this.

Did the entire trebuchet weigh only 200 pounds; or, was it a trebuchet, capable of hurling a 200 pound stone??

Are you in a habit of transporting siege weapons??

Just did 14 rolls plus truck and trailer this weekend. Heaviest has been 17 rolls. I hear you on the shifting with the 3.55s. With the 4.10s, it would walk with that load. Just gotta keep an eye on conditions down the road to be ready to stop.

I usually haul in 18 rounds at a time. 10 on bottom and 8 on the top. There's also a big difference between 18 grass hay rounds and 18 bermuda rounds. Feels like almost double the weight. That's where I fell in love with my Prodigy controller and brakes on both trailer axles.

I think that the entire thing weighed about 200 pounds... Wood and aluminum construction.

With 25 pounds of weight it'd throw a softball 150 feet.

I'd hope I wouldn't need a license for something that wimpy.
