General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Guardrail, that's awesome. I'm actually looking to build one too. Seems like a kit will end up being cheaper than if I make it myself. The only problem I see is that the tarp material the kits usually come with deteriorate rather quickly in the sun.

Check the web site. They have them for anything from a lawn tractor to an air plane hanger.

Farmtek carries a 15 year guarantee on the material. I went back an forth between steel and poly and for the money, I couldn't even touch a steel. I chose the Farmtek because of the thickness, the ratchet system to keep the material tight, and the fact that they are made in Iowa, not China.

I have no idea where to get a kit but I can suggest that you buy 3 sonotubes for the grass area. Dig 3-4 feet deep and bury the sonotubes. Use the embedded type simpson connectors and fill the tubes with concrete. This will give you stronger legs on the grass side.

My 18'x18' carport w/no sides was $595 + tax installed...lots cheaper than a new paint job.
