Dynoing a stock truck

I'm thinking of dynoing my truck at scheids in a few weeks to see what it puts out in stock form. I have no performance mods other than the 4 inch straight pipe. Because my truck is all stock in the driveline, can putting it on the dyno hurt the truck at all? I don't wanna put it up there and then something break on me.

No, a dyno wont hurt your truck unless something is ready to go already. I will be spinning the rollers myself. The worst thing with a stock automatic is they will unlock the TC in overdrive sometimes when they lay the hammer down, and that hurts your numbers. A lockup switch will stop that.

Ok that makes me feel a little better about it. Everything on the truck is in good order. The truck has 105,000 on the trans and driveline but its been taken care of pretty well.

FYI, I dynoed mine shortly after I got it to see what it did in stock form and the numbers I got were 283 hp and 524 torque.
This was on an 05 btw.

I dynoed mine stock, twice.

198 and 205 stock HP.

Mustang and Dynojet, although I forget which gave me which reading.

I did have the TC unlock problem both times.

Haven't dynoed since.

Just get it up around 70mph or so, before you floor it. That should be enough to keep the tranny from shifting down to get a good dyno run.

Dynoed mine in stock form at cummins in greensboro not sure what type of dyno they had but pulled 219 to and is only rated 235 so I was pretty happy with that I do loose a lil less because of 5 spd though.
