Another hail storm, need a carport!!
My new to me Ram now has a couple of hail dings in it, thanks to mother nature.
This is the 2nd hail storm in as many years with golf ball sized hail. Last year my Silverado sustained about $1900.00 damage to it. This storm wasn't near as bad, both vehicles have about 20 dings combined. The Chevy now has a fiberglass hood, so it was OK.
I may just fix the 3 dings in the hood of the Dodge. It sits too high to see the 3 or 4 small dings in the roof. (one more reason to like my CTD Dodge )
I guess I'd better think about putting up a carport. Anyone recommend a company that makes a good carport?

Those all metal ones with the curved "eaves" seem to be pretty durable and cheap enough.
Welcome to Kansas!
We had a good one here in Coffeyville about 4 years ago which did $13,000 damage to the property. Broke windshields, windows, ate the vinyl siding off one side of the house, not to mention the dents.

Try one of those "paintless dent repair" places to fix your hood. It's cheaper than refinishing the panel, and you don't lose the factory finish or have paint that doesn't match in a couple of years.

I was out running around when the hail storm blew threw. I started getting pelted with pea sized and then about 1/2" hail. I was real close to the local Sears store that has a covered garage and I was able to duck in there before the 2" hail started falling. After the storm passed I came back home and kept a close eye on the radar. I saw two more storm cells with large hail reported head towards me so I split. I kept tabs on where the storms were and how they were tracking by listening to the Sky Warn net on my ham radio. Armed with that info, I was able to drive around and completely avoid two more cells. Luckily, I was able to avoid any damage to the truck.

I can tell you one company to definately stay away from. Send me an e-mail and I'll tell you who to avoid like the plague. They built both of mine. I didn't learn from the first one I guess.
